Welcome to World of Winecraft!

WoW is about inspiring people to learn about and love wines from all around the world.

WoW celebrates delicious wine, quite often with a perfect pairing of good food, and a delicious appetite for travel and exploration on the side.

While the focus is primarily wine, cocktails, beer, and other alcoholic beverages may be celebrated at WoW. Why be exclusive? Unless, of course, it’s crap.

About the Author: Kris Johnson

In the words of the great Austin Powers: “Allow myself to introduce…myself.” While not exactly an International Man of Mystery (I have much nicer teeth), I am: an International Tourist; a Lounge Specialist; a Cork Dork; a proud Epicurean; an active Outdoor Enthusiast; and (among other things) a Student of Life. I’m also currently studying full time in Edmonton, Alberta in the Denturist Technology program. (So, this wine thing is just for fun…)

A resident of Kelowna, BC, Canada, I’m sometimes known as THE Kris Johnson. When reading blog entries, you may note the author is “W.O. Winecraft”. Don’t be fooled; this is also me. So: call me Kris, call me KJ, call me W.O. Winecraft–just don’t call me late for Happy Hour.

In addition to being a casual writer, I am WSET certified and used to work on the PR and marketing end of promoting various wine regions and brands. I like to drink the stuff. My ‘informal’ education continues each time I get a new contract or I open a new bottle.Wine education is truly about experiencing the wine itself. It’s one of the best things about learning about wine: drinking and education, together at last.

I look forward to sharing information with you–a la ‘two way street’–about a passion I assume we have in common! WoW is not here to preach to people, it’s to help others as I help myself. I’m by no means a know-it-all; I know a little bit about wine, but the learning continues! Please enjoy WoW, one glass at a time. Your comments are welcome, I look forward to exploring the World of Winecraft with you! Remember: Make wine, not war!
